Whats wrong with my connection?????????????

Hallo!
i have broadband (ntl) to be precise and for some time i keep having the same problem..When i go onto a multiplayer game for instance call of duty when i try to get onto a server it says that the server is for low pings only but surely i should have a low ping if i have broadband shouldnt i?? anyway even if i do get onto a server then the game is really laggy so much that i cant shoot or move properly and then i get booted for having a high ping!! why is this happening? i thought having broadband meant i should get a smooth game and a low ping. this happens in almost every game i have e.g vietcong and hidden and dangerous 2, can somebody please please help me cos i want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Call ur ISP and have them come out and look at it.

Broadband doesnt mean u'll have a low ping, but it should be low enough to play games on without getting disconnected

Maybe try and find a server thats close to you. On the servers you are getting a high ping do a tracert to that ip and post it here.

Try doing a tracert to multiplay.co.uk or something. You have a firewall up and running? might want to make sure you have it configured properly.

When you do a tracert, look to see which hops are causing the problems. That will let you know where along the lines the problem might be. Could be a network router in your node, anywhere along the lines..../schrugs shoulders.
