My company found a ISP company to setup the broadband connection in the office. The connection works, but we dont know the dail-up password.

I tried many times and eventually can log in the administrative page (192.168.0.1). I can see the dail-up username, but the dail-up password are asterisks (the log-in password and dail-up password are different, as far as I know).

How can I retrieve the dail-up password?

Broadband router Model: Netopia R910

Very thanks for any help.

Contact your supplier. If it is your router, you should be told the password. If it is theirs, likely they won't tell you.

The router is supplied by the ISP, it is not our property. The policy is quite strange, we pay the fee, but we dont have the control right such as reset password.

The TechTV program won't work - it only recovers passwords that you have saved on your computer.

It's not unusual to find ISPs that will not give you the password to their equipment.

Yeah, then it sounds like the only option would be to contact the ISP. Just thought I'd post that link above anywyas, didn't really think it would be of any help.

Im from portugal and our isp works the same way.
Some reasons i know:
- They have remote control of your router enabled, if you have a problem u have to contact em so they can fix a problem or add rules to the firewall, etc :D
- Someone with no experience with access to it could end up doing the wrong configuration.
- If you paid for the router you should have the password but like i said im from some other country and it happens the same way in here, no one has access to the router not even the owners

Call you ISP...it's your PPPoE account information, you have a right to know it. Nothing to do with wether the router is yours or the ISP's...he's talking about his PPPoE information.

Should also be documented on some papers you received when you first signed up for your account.
