Hey all-
I have an HP Network Scanjet 5 sitting here in my office that I would like to deploy to the network. Unfortunately it seems that HP no longer supports this product, as I can't seem to find any client software for it on their web-site so what I am looking for is a generic utility for managing and using the scanner. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? TIA.

Any scanner software should do it, eg Paperport or others.

yup, already tried those too. No Win2000 or XP support.
This thing is so outdated, I might end up just requesting a new one, hopefully there is some money in the budget for it.

I've crammed NT4 drivers down XP and 2K throat a few times without any problems. Given a shot, worst case, you have to unistall them.

its not just the drivers though, its the administration/configuration utility and the client software that i need.
Try using the older windows driver and aps in Compatability Mode.

I Don't think you'll find Win2000 or Xp drivers.

tried that, no luck.
Here are a whole mess of people that seem to get it to work.

They are workarounds but they are successful ones.

Hey UOD, thanks for the link. From a brief glance it appears that these folks are using a serial or SCSI Scanjet5. The scanner I am trying to get to work is a network-based scanner, it only has an Ethernet port, no serial or SCSI connections.
But I will do some research there as time permits (a few other projects have taken priority over this one).
And thanks again people for all the effort!!:)
