View Full Version : Flash photography
The little built-in flash on point-and-shoot cameras is handy and portable but they don't really put out much light. For better coverage, a proper strobe light can be useful but these cameras don't have a hot shoe or PC socket so it must be slaved to the on-camera flash.
Here's what use (shown on my old Olympus):

The photocell is mounted between the light and the grip.

My goodness. That frame is huge!
Aw, c'mon. It's just a standard flash bracket on a small camera. :D
Gets the light up and away from the lens. The folks that shoot weddings and stuff often use a much larger one.

Does this type of flash..Actually light up according to the Cams flashpoint or does it just stay on like a regular light would...Switched on and off when needed.??

Uh yeah. I know that, but that thing is a monster on that camera. Add that eye and it looks alien-ish. I'm getting one for my setup here soon. Still shopping...
It's a regular xenon flash, Spice. The photocell triggers it when the small flash fires and the camera seems to do a proper job of adjusting the exposure.

Yes it does, and the color correction filter adds to the effect.
To top it off, I can wear my bee suit. :D
