how do they calculate the deadlines for projects? i'm trying to get my server to use FAH, but in the past i kept it on during the day and it never managed to complete a single job. now i keep it 24/7. also my desktop runs for a few hours and has no problems at all.

there's no point running fah on a computer lesser than 800mhz... it will never finish in time...

I believe it's based on a Celeron 500 MHz.

Its just gonna be VERY slow...4400 mins for a big project. It will finish before the deadline tho. I run mine 24/7 tho

Stanford uses a Celeron 500MHz pc to find out how long it takes to crunch a work unit.

But then they add some time to that because the believe that the average person uses his pc 8 hours a day.

So really a 200MHz pc should be able to crunch a work unit in time to make the deadline if it crunches 24/7.

I still have a 500 celly folding, slow as molasses in winter, but it does get them done and turned in, runs 24/7.
Most WU's it takes about 1.5 hours to complete 1 frame, turns in about 2 work units a week.

I don't install folding on anything less than a P3 800.
