GeForce3 Ti500 vs. FX5200 or FX5600

Hey guys,

How does a TI500 card compare to FX5200 card and Fx5600 card?
I couldn't find any comparisons for them..

To answer your question briefly and with my limited knowledge on the topic, it seems your trying to compare Gefore3 technology to Geforce FX technology.. Geforce3 is way outdated and the newer FX technology will take advantage of newer game engines that use more advanced lighting & texturing effects as well as DirectX 9 support. Basically, the old Geforce3 can still run a lot of games, but if you want to crank up the effects for the newer games, you'll need an FX card or better yet a RADEON 9800 in order to get the most out of your games.

or he could jsut go with a radeon 9600 which beats hte crap out of most of the fx cards

9800.. 9600... doesn't matter. They both outperform the FX series regardless of how much you want to spend. :)

the 5600 Ultra is not a bad card for the price. I know alot of people will jump up and down and say ATI! ATI! as they are most definitley the current leaders of the high-end market. If you're a NVidia loyal, the 5600 Ultra is a decent card at a decent price. I spent all summer demoing games to kids on machines with the 5600U's in them and I gotta say they ran like champs in less than desireable conditions.

To reiterate what Koldkillah said though, you definitely want to go with a newer gen card now, as they can be had very affordably thses days theres no reason not to take advantage of DX9.
