I have not gamed since Counter-Strike. I played it in college from the beginning through mod 5 or 6 then I quit.

I had purchased the Half-Life game and downloaded the MOD.

Are there any other MODs that are any good for half life?

What are some good games? I see a lot about BF 1942 but have never played ...

I am thinking about starting to play a game or two again but I want some input on what is good and the cost as well ...

not many others that aren't filled with bugs... tfc is the only other major mod that I think is worth playing

with the release of steam all valve mods have gone down the crapper

BF is good, been playing that, Rise of Nations is good. Been playing C&C Generals too.

I'll tell you what...I've been HUGE into online FPS games since..oh, Quake 1 got be going BIG time. Already back then with each of those games..Q1, Q2, HL, Q3, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, a little MOHAA and SH...anyways...I've spent insane amounts of hours on each game.

But nothing...NOTHING..has gotten me so wrapped up...as Battlefield 1942 and also the mod DC.

what is the cost for the software for BF 1942? Maybe I will add it to my Christmas List (http://www.lance-tek.com/Wishlists.htm#-lance) or maybe I will just go out and buy it for myself ...

You can BF1942 and the Road to Rome expansion for $50. I think. You might be able to pick up just BF for cheaper I don't know.
