installing CS Server

I have downloaded hl server 4.1.1.1 and Im trying to get it installed but I can see the server across the LAN. Do I need to install the CS 1.5 mod to play CS or is the HL server enough??

um yes, i htink you have to install the cs mod to play cs on the server

I am trying to setup a CS 1.5 server and im using hl4111 server. Is the only way to set this up by using the GUI? I have tried to add to the target line for my shortcut but it always comes up with the GUI. I have added things to the server.cfg but it doesnt show up(tried adding servername), I can change the motd file and it will show what I wrote in there. I also can use rcon cause it says my password is bad, even though I have put it in.

I also need to get this to run as a service so it will run when nobody is logged on to the server.

I have read the how-to at counter server but it isnt helping.
