Well first off Id like to thank mcoffee and steele fot all their help with my 2 problems Ive had, your fixes always work great ;) Now Ive got 1 last problem to hopefully clear up, and I figured I'd see if u guys could help me out yet again.... I play a game called soldier of fourtune 2 online, and used to be able to get pings of about 140- 180, but after I applied the settings steele gave me in cablenut my pings r through the roof. My surfing and downloading speeds are great now, which is why I dont uderstand why I cant get a ping lower than about 600-700. I know you guys really know your stuff, so hopefully you have an idea what might be causing this, cause I dont have the slightest clue.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help guys!

almost forgot, here are the results from the analyzer.

TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 32120
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 32120

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1284.8 kbps (160.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 513.92 kbps (64.24 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 112 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 11110000

Precedence (priority) = 000 (routine)
Delay = 0 (normal delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 1 (high reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)

You can't tweak your latency and there are no settings in CableNut that effect latency. Can you post a tracert result.

:cool:

I sure can, how or where can I do one? Sorry , I'm a newbie when it comes to these things.

Read here (http://dslnuts.com/ping.shtml) but use google.com instead of dslnuts.com.

Do I read that right in the earlier posts? A cablemodem as a wireless receiver? :eek: First hop has quite a bit of latency.

are you running half or full duplex ? 10 baseT
I did the test and as usual come out with an average ping of 25-30 on all.

must be the puppychow.
