View Full Version : Macromedia
I am running IE 6.0 and am unable to install Macromedia's flash player or shockwave player. I have gone to their site and tried everything but it wont install. Could I have something in my setting somewhere that prevents me from installing this ? I can download and install other software with no problem.

is there any error message?
have u got activex downloads enabled? its needed
tools>internet options>security
Set level to medium or adjust custom level. and make sure the site isn't under restricted sites list.
install spywareblaster to stop dodgy activex, whilst allowing safe ones http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Im not getting any error message. It looks like it downloads but there is nothing there. I have my internet and trusted sites set to medium. I am able to download other things. This just doesnt want to load into explorer or anywhere and Im unable to go to sites like joecartoon.com because I cant get any flash programs to work.
Still dont get it. I downloaded Shockwave and it works. Still cant get the flashplayer to work. It looks like it loaded because I get the uninstaller and run it and it uninstalls but Im not able to run any web sites that use flash.

Have you turned OFF your antivirus program while doing this ? Java would not install on mine until I turned that off.
Dunno. Maybe it'll work.
:)
Nadda. Shut down the antivirus program, set all my settings to low. Checked to be sure I can run active x. Still wont run. Im stumped. I have gone to macromedias web site and follwed their instructions to the letter. Uninstalled what I had and reinstalled. Still nothing.
