my laptop runs xp home it also has 512 ram.....question is the ram-defrag program show it starts out with about 260 free ram and within a few minutes it goes down to 200's......is this normal??

Why run the RamDefrag? XP manages ram very well, and it seems kind of ironic to use a program using Ram in order to free more ram. Also i would think there is alot running on boot if all that is free is 200-260 with 512MB of Ram.

got rid of ram defrag...best way to find whats running on boot....thanks for the reply
