Hi I need settings to make my internet faster,
I'm using cox.net
I used spy bot s&d and adware 6
I am using cablenut
Here are my tcp analyzer results,

TCP options string = 0204053401010402
MTU = 1372
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.
MSS = 1332
MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 37960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 37960

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511488 (MSS x 48 * scale factor of 8)
255744 (MSS x 48 * scale factor of 4)
127872 (MSS x 48 * scale factor of 2)
63936 (MSS x 48)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1518.4 kbps (189.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 607.36 kbps (75.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 52 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

what settings should i use in cablenut

First you need to raise your MTU to 1500.

XP's default MTU is 1500 so either you changed it or a program you used changed it. Have you always had Cox internet? Have you used any ohter tweaking apps? Are you using a router?

Ive always had cox and im not using a router.
I have used tcp/ip optimiser and cable nut, I might of used another tweaking app but I don't think so

but it still wont change to 1500

Search your registry for the value 1372 and if it pertains to your MTU change it to 1500.

I might of used another tweaking app A long time ago when I was playing with tweak tools, I installed one and played with for a while. After a week I removed the software but failed to “completely” remove it. I then tried cablenut and found that my settings weren’t holding after I did a reboot. Long story short… the first tweak program was overriding the cablenut settings. I had to do a deep registry cleaning of the old tweak software. Once done, cablenut then held all registry settings at reboot.

Maybe you have some registry clutter from another tweak program messing things up.

Try removing tcpip and reinstall if i'm not mistaken that should take out most of ur old tweaks to do that goto my computer control panel network and dialup connections.

Highlight tcpip uncheck it and click remove reboot. Goto control panel network and dialup connections Click install, then click install protocol, then tcpip
