im running xpPro and run ut2003 and q3.......neither of those lock up my system.....as matter of fact nothing else locks up my system like this game does

Desert Combat has been locking up on me. Sometimes it plays for ten minutes, sometimes it plays for a couple of hours...

It froze on me today when I was playing. Couldn't get out of it for anything. Had to cold reboot. I was trying to take some screenshots with PRINT SCREEN. I hit it twice real quick and it stopped. Perhaps I hosed the RAM on that time. Dunno.

is that why you were leaving and then rejoining the server last nite ?
have you guys thought about reinstalling the game to see if that will fix it ?
maybe try running prime95 to test for system stablity ?
BTW Snuf, nice flying ya do :)

If you all have different mod's installed for BF. That might be the reason or if a mod didn't quite install properly.
Like Mark said, best bet is to uninstall completely, the reinstall.

yeah, that was the reason. I have just re-install the whole system, OS and all.. have done that about 3 times this week alone. Funny thing is, after it happen about 3 times last night, I played for about another 1.5 hours with no problems at all...
And thanks, I thought the flying I was doing was kind of sloppy.:)
It seems rolling back to the Catalyst 3.7 drivers has fixed my problem. Played for nearly 2.5 hours without a hiccup.
i wonder if trying the 3.8 drivers with a fresh format would change anything, i think i am still on the 3.4 drivers, not sure though.
glad it is working good now :)

I was using the 3.8's on a fresh format, didn't seem to work too well for me. I have the 3.7's on a fresh format now, so I will wait and see if anything changes on ATI's site about the 3.8's.
