i just bought a dell notebook and it come with MacAfee antivirus program, i have a Northon Antivirus 7.5 corp that i would like to install which virus program is better
Norton is definately better, but in order to get rid of McAfee, you'll pretty much have to reformat to get all of it off. I don't know if that's an option you want to pursue.

so what you are saying is that it's bundle with dell why is it so hard to come off i run into it a couple of time with some other pc
I've never been able to get McAfee completely uninstalled any other way. You could go to their site and get removal instructions and do as they say. It'll get rid of some of it, but not all of it, then install Norton and hope there aren't any program conflicts.
I'm just saying that for me personally, I'd rather all of it to be off before installing the other. Do what's easiest for you.

Corp Edition is what I prefer, use it at home myself, and try to get all clients networks to use it.
Uninstalling McA depends on the versions, some OEM ones don't even list themselves in Add/Remove, or register with the Windows installer service to be able to uninstall. Lately I've seen most of them in Add/Remove though. Although not as easy to find help on as Symantecs support site, McAf's site has manual removal instructions...just take a while to find them, in order to manually go in and remove as many files and registyr entries as possible.
You keeping Symantec CE subscription updated? They should have sent you some updates by now, 7.5 is quite old, 8.1 is current.
Go to the Dell Customer Support website and do a search of their knowledgebase using "uninstall McAfee" in the bar.
Because you own a Dell you should be able to access this using your Registration.

I'm of the same mindset as YOSC. I recommend to all my clients NAV Corp Edition. However, I must say that TrendMicro's AV product isn't too shabby.
