Hi all.
Here's the deal.
I have a regular home/family PC, with cable internet. We just started home schooling our daughter. One of the benifits of the home school program is they furnish a computer for her to do and submit all her homework on.
The catch is, the computer DOES NOT have any cd-rom or floppy drives. It's strictly for accessing the home school program's website. Currently we're using dial-up on the school supplied computer, which is tieing our phone line for 6 hours a day. The computer does have an NIC and ethernet port, and we confirmed with the school that the it can be used with a high speed connection. But Im a total dummy when it comes to routers/networking having never had to worry about that until now.
I'm not interested in networking the two computers to exchange files or share printers ect, just my cable internet connection.
After reading the reviews on site, I think I will be purchasing the BELKIN router.
My question is: With the school supplied computer having no CD-ROM drive for installation disks, is the router truly going to be plug and play? And if not, does anyone have any suggestions of one that possibly is?
Thanks.....
