messenger service

every 10 to 15 mins i get a pop up saying messenger service how do i stop it popping up as it even pops up when i have a pop up killer on :(

Goto Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services

Go down to & right click "Messenger", select properties.
Set startup type to 'disabled' and service status click 'Stop'
