why wont it (XP )

Ello everyone... got a predicament , wiped off the hd , as it had ME on it.... and did the full format..... scanned and it said clean, now it wont boot to XP.
It's a Compaq Presario Laptop 1200. it didnt want to load the XP before the wipe.... and now doesnt see anything but the ME boot disc I created before the damage. it it doesnt even see my W98se boot disc... just the ME( floppy) one....
everyone said "do it clean" yea... cleaned me outta the laptop. and found boot disc files fpr XP... but the exe is 4 megs... I set the lap to boot from CD , but it wont read the burned CD with those files.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

well , I figured it out... was a late nights mind fart ..... but I had a box of corrupt floppies, and didnt think it out.... once I opened the boot program ( in a new folder) it showed me the light .. thanks, that was a good link for my archives.
