Hi,
We have been having a problem for the past year and someone has been attacking our computer and ruining our netscape and emails. They erase the netscape bookmarks, then go into our emails, and erase/steal/something with them so that I cannot find them on the comptuer and I have to load a new username/profile all over again. This has been going on for a while. I re installed a new haredrive with the Norton System Works 2003 and have not had any problems, until last night, when I had a wartnign pop up that a Portal of Doom Trojan (I have searched for it, and cannot locate it in computer) was attacking our computer and that I needed to download a java application to view the attack? I did, and now all the info of the attack in Norton is missing. I fear that someone has a keylogger/watrching our computer and what we do. What can I do, short of reformatting the hardrive, and then how can I be sure the clown that is bothering us, is gone? And how can I keep them out?

try an online virus checker like from www.pandasoftware.com then get ad-aware and spywareblaster/guard or spybot from www.webattack.com which can disable key loggers/spyware, theres loads of other anti-trojan/virus and keylogger programs there too.

Install a firewall, NSW doesn't have a firewall. use Sygate or Outpost.

Or better in my opinion...get behind a NAT router. Are you on WinXP? If so...at least enable XP's firewall. Also get all your windows critical updates. Follow the above advice on ridding of your trojan...run those scans. Also make sure your NAV is fully up to date with definitions, then reboot into safe mode, run a full system scan.
