I wish to open port 3389 on Zone Alarm so that I can do Remote Desktop connection. Is this possible? Yes, I know you can change the port to something else to keep out potential hackers.

Thanks Guys,

Zonealarm sucks anyways it is one of the worst.

Get Sygate or Outpost

It's been a while since I've used ZA (switched to Sygate Personal Firewall, free, does the same as ZA with less "overhead") but if you know the IP of from where you will be connecting, you can add that as a "trusted" IP, or something like that, if I'm not mistaken. You may even be able to specify a port.....maybe.

You must also configure your computer to allow remote desktop connection.

I believe you'll need ZA Pro to do it.

Can you not add an IP address (or block) to your "trustedzone"? Been a while for me too, but I remember that hosts on my lan could still F&P share...

EDIT: downside is you have to pre-define where you're connecting from.
