Take a look at one of the instances I have running:

http://www.doersch.info/sg/autosend.jpg

Note that it said "sent 0 complete units to the server." Is this because there were no completed units and it was just sending on some sort of predetermined schedule (like every 6 or 12 hours, etc.) or did it indeed have work completed that it was trying to send but couldn't? It makes it look like it's having connectivity problems but there's no error message.

Thanks.

Hmmmm that's odd....the client only autosend when there's a wu that hasn't been submitted...

That will happen every 6 hours while your folding.

It's just a way that if you finished a work unit and the server it was susposed to go back to was down, that it would retry to send the finished work unit without any intervention on your part.

If there are no work units to send as soon as it senses that there aren't any to send it prints out the 'sent 0 units...etc' and finishes with out activiting your modem or sending on the internet. If you happen to be looking at the file just as that happened you can see by the time stamps that it took less than 1 second to complete.

Its a normal occurance.

Whew, thanks for the great info, rickoic. I was hoping it was the "timed send" thing and not the existence of a problem. I had read somewhere about it prior to my starting Folding, but couldn't find it again.

Sorry to be blasting the board with all of these questions, I'm still a Folding noob.

Thats why everyones here, to help you get up to speed. Most questions have been asked before so we have answers handy, but everyonce in awhile, we get a new one.

But for someone just starting out, about every question is new and you have a need to know. So don't hesitate to ask.
