Does anyone know how to stop a DDoS attack? I have a router, can I somehow configure it to block attacks?

I am by FAR a network tech, but from what I know any router with a NAT will stop DDOs attacks. SPI will take it a step further.

Depending upon the amount of clients performing the attack you are limited.
If you are getting DDOSed your best bet is to contact your ISP so that they can block the traffic that's DDOSing you--or assign you a new IP address. As for your router blocking the traffic from getting into your LAN, it does, but the DDOS is eating up your bandwidth and your router has to make a decision on what to do with an incoming packet. So, your connection will suffer.
Just let the ISP deal with it, they have better resources and better equipment than you do (their $30,000.00 routers are able to handle much larger traffic volume and are a lot more effective than the $100.00 to $200.00 one most home users have).
