I have no idea how to speed up my net connection but i was told this is where to come to find out.
I am hoping someone here will be able to tell me in a way ill understand how to get my cable to download a lot faster than it currently is.
(I was told it runs at about 16-17 and can run a hell a lot faster)
Anyway i did the analyzer thing, i hope this is what the other posts meant by it:

TCP options string = 020405b4010303020101080a000000000000000001010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits (scale factor of 4)
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 120 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) =
Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

I hope someone can tell me how to change it cause i need the extra speed for my downloads and gaming of course :D
P.s: Could you estimate the improvment in speed after the changes have been made. Please.

What windows version you have and also how fast is the cable up and down? To for warn you you can only tweak for faster pages loading and faster downloading not gamming.

Its windows xp pro, and in other posts people in the same package as me have said 150/64 so i guess thats what im on.
Yeah downloading is pretty much the main point of this :)

Download and install cablenut which is below and try the following
DefaultReceiveWindow = 19200
DefaultSendWindow =8192
DisableAddressSharing = 1
InitialLargeBufferCount = 200
InitialMediumBufferCount = 480
InitialSmallBufferCount = 640
LargeBufferSize = 81920
MaxFastTransmit = 64000
MediumBufferSize = 15040
PriorityBoost = 0
SmallBufferSize = 1280
TransmitWorker = 32
FastSendDatagramThreshold = 4096
EnableFastRouteLookup = 1
EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1
IgnorePushBitOnReceives = 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize 5840
MaxFreeTcbs = 8000
MaxHashTableSize = 16384
MaxNormLookupMemory = 5000000
SackOpts = 1
SynAttackProtect = 1
Tcp1323Opts = 0
TcpLogLevel = 1
TcpMaxDupAcks = 3
TcpMaxHalfOpen = 100
TcpMaxHalfOpenRetried = 80
TcpRecvSegmentSize = 1460
TcpSendSegmentSize = 1460
TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30
TcpUseRFC1122UrgentPointer = 0
TcpWindowSize =5840
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 20
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10
DefaultTTL = 64
DisableUserTOSSetting = 0
TcpMaxDataRetransmissions = 6
DefaultTOSValue = 92
Make SURE you follow these important tips as well:
1. Open Internet Explorer and select Tools - Internet Options - under the General tab in the Temporary Internet files section select the Settings button.
Select "Every visit to the page" and set the amount of disk space to use: to no more than 80MB. Now select the Connections tab and select LAN Settings make sure EVERYTHING there is unchecked and select OK.
2. For IE6 ONLY - select the Privacy tab and choose Advanced check the box "Override automatic cookie handling" and for First-party Cookies - Accept, Third-party Cookies - Block and check "Always allow session cookies. Now NO MORE SPYWARE COOKIES.
3. Another thing to do about once a week if you modem is on 24/7 is to power cycle your modem, just completely disconnect power from it for atleast 15 seconds and then power it back on.
4. Set your temporary internet files to 80mb and delete them regularly.
5. DSL users may want to check out the DSL Wiring Guide for possibly increasing your DSL speed.
6. By default Windows 2K & XP cache everything in the DNS cache service, both correct and faulty DNS lookups. To increase performance by eliminating the caching of faulty DNS lookups, change the following values from whatever their original values are to zero.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servi
ces\Dnscache\Parameters]
"NegativeCacheTime"=dword:00000000
"NetFailureCacheTime"=dword:00000000
"NegativeSOACacheTime"=dword:00000000
7. Always connect your modem via ethernet (Network Interface Card) instead of USB, ethernet is faster and much more stable. Also ALWAYS make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer NOT Microsoft, alot of times the drivers from the manufacturer have advanced settings that help optimize the performance of your NIC that the native Microsoft drivers don't have.
8. Scan for spyware weekly with Ad Aware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download & SpyBot http://beam.to/spybotsd.
9. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.
10. For 2K & XP - Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need.
For 98 & ME - Under your Configuration tab for your Network settings make sure you have only the needed protocols and install the vtcp 386 patch and the NDIS Update from here

Nevermind the above post.
My problem now is, A) The speed increase is not noticable... maybe 1 or 2kb increase and B) The speed isnt steady it fluctuates like mad.
But A) is the thing im more bothered about.

What's ur speed now and where are you testing at???

I was testing it from a friends FTP which is usually pretty stable also his ftp can go over 300kbs, i was going 21kb max and that wasnt for long, i usually did 17 or 18 before and having it go at 20kb now isnt really a big improvment, i was hoping double the speed.
Anyway if you can think of a better set of tweaks post em please cause this slight increase isnt that good =/ i appreciate your helping me though, i hope you can post a set of tweaks that double my speed :D :) :D

21*8 =168 your on a 150 line you are exceding ur capps your right where you should be. I think you are confusing bits /bites:D

Your latency is going to be very high with that line, I would suggest using a TcpWindowSize of 11680.
