I am just wondering about this. On my laptop I have a wireless card (802.11b) and I was wondering what is the best way to tweak for the various connection types that I use.

When I'm on campus, I have connectivity to 3 T1 lines, but when I'm at home I have my 2000/384 Earthlink Cable connection. What would work best here? The laptop is using Windows XP Pro, 320MB RAM, P3 450

I would suggest using CableNut and finding optimum settings for each connection then save the .ccs files so you can easily change your registry settings.

Well I was looking for a 1-size fits all deal, but I guess that there is no such thing.

For now I have it setup with the T3 profile, but I since I can't attain those speeds that is kind of pointless. Since I am limited by the connection speed of my 802.11b card, I will setup a profile for 11mbps buffers and see what happens.

Here on campus they just added a DS3 line for dorms, although I don't live on campus, it does mean that internet load on nonresidential campus lines will significantly be reduced, and I can max out my 11mbps just on an internet download (I could do that before too, just more likely at this point).
