I have a bunch of videos recorded in what appears to be a proprietary ATI Avi format. Is there a utility (freeware or shareware) that can convert them to mpeg format?

Thanks.

Have you tried putting them all into Premiere in the order you want and then exporting them to Windoze ? That is what I've done before.

The file sizes range from 500mbs to over 1 gig. Unfortunately, these were made many years ago with my AIW Pro for which is no longer installed in my system. Additionally, my mobo's AGP slot (8x) will not accept old AGP cards (2x) for some reason. It has a different slot arrangement.

What does that have to do with anything ?

All you need is the program to do it.

Zooner is the man to answer these kinda questions, but have you tried virtual dub or TMPGnc ?

Yep, I tried a number of them, they don't recognize ATI's proprietary avi format (created via their vcr 1.0 software) :(

mountainman: Ah, OK, you mean Adobe Premier, gotcha.

I don't know if it recognizes ATI codecs but I guess it's worth a try.
