Is this normal?

Lately my Receive and send have been lighting up even though im not doing anything on the net

I then reinstalled Zone alarm and in like 15 minutes it said it blocked like 3000 attacks.


So is this normal? o_O

First uninstall ZA and use Outpost or Sygate then scan for viruses and spyware with Ad Aware & SpyBot. Then see how many blocked attempts you have.

Right now there is massive amounts of ICMP ping traffic thanks to the morons that let their machines get infected with the Welchia Worm. I don't know how long it's going to last, but I'm seeing 8000+ hits a day.

I actually think i got infected that worm because i downloaded the wormfinder from systemac and it found and deleted it. I uninstalled ZA and i use Sygate and i still get many attacks, but oh well. Hopefully it willl pass :(

Also make sure you have all the latest Windows Updates.

Googling msmsgri32.exe brings up references to the W32.Randex.D worm. Sounds like you need to disinfect your machine...
