Hi all,

I am using an SSH login to access the internet here at school. How can i tweak my computer for best internet speeds? As far as i know, we have 10000/10000 but on average the little booklet says 1500/1000.

I am using PuTTy but have downloaded F-secure ssh to see if it makes a difference. Also, could you plese suggest some possible tweaks for overall web page loading speed, as it seems somewhat unresponsive.

Thanks,

Massa

BTW I use cablenut, and windows XP and am willing to use any other utilities suggested. We have been assigned a static IP as well, and mccoffee .. what was the metric tip you suggested?

Thanks In Advance,

Dave

Metric value of 1, van you post a current TCP/IP Analyzer test?

putty is pretty tight - I wouldn't look too hard at the client.

Does the server you're connecting to use compression? Explain the architecture - or the steps you take to connect to the web if they don't tell you enough about their setup.
