VNC seems to work pretty well...halfway decent resolution but very poor refresh rate and no file transfer functionality.

Remote Administrator seems the exact opposite:D with better refresh rate but horrible resolution. At least it has file transfer capabilites...so I've been going with it recently. Will use when I unload my camera to a spare system with no monitor, then to transfer the files to my main rig. Transfer work fine, very fast and decent GUI.

Am I missing any other ones? Preferably with good imaging and file transfers? Basically for LAN use controlling spare systems that have no monitors.

Thanks

Best of them all IMHO, many of us IT guys use them on a daily basis...beats driving across the state to do an onsite for some simple server work.

Symantec PcAnywhere, currently at version 11.

We had remote administrator on here for a while. It was alright but yeah the resolution was the pits. My son likes PC Anywhere much better.

Thanks for the replies, will have to try that one too.

I read something disfavorable about it but I have no clue what:D

Probably the fact that it's not free...you have to pay for it. But it's worth it if you spend any time remote admin'ing.

Good security
Compatible with firewalls (once you open/forward the ports), also flexible letting you use alternate ports for increased security
Great file transfer utility
Remote or local printing
