Yeah you can just reinstall Outlook I believe, and all your settings should remain intact. Although I make no guarantees
When you get Outlook running again, export your emails to a file:
With Outlook running, click FILE then IMPORT AND EXPORT.
The Import and Export Wizard will appear. From the available selections, choose EXPORT TO A FILE.
Click Next.
The next box will give you a variety of file types to export. Choose PERSONAL FOLDER FILE (.PST).
Click Next.
The next box will ask you to select the folder to export from. If you want to save ALL of your emails, scroll to the top and select PERSONAL FOLDERS and make sure you place a check mark in the INCLUDE SUBFOLDERS option.
Click Next.
This next box will ask you for a destination. These files can be huge, depending on how long you've saved your emails, so make sure you have appropriate disk space on the destination drive.
Click Finish.
By doing the above you can always be assured that no matter what happens to Outlook you can always just reinstall the program and then import your backup *.PST file and carry on, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Journal included.
:)
