I have DSL on a desktop computer
Fuse.net & 768/384
Windows 98SE
I ran both spyware checkers before posting
TCP options string = 020405ac0103030001010402
MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 20328
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 20328
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 813.12 kbps (101.64 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 325.248 kbps (40.656 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 50 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 01011100
Precedence (priority) = 100 (flash override)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)
I also tried this test I found on another post:
That isn't a speed test try this ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64
donwload it about halfway and let us know the resaults.
My average download speed was 79 KB/Sec
Thanks.

Hi BigPrez:D, try the following settings in CableNut:
BcastNameQueryCount - 1
BcastQueryTimeout - 100
BSDUrgent - 1
CacheTimeout - 600000
DefaultRecvWindow - 31944
DefaultTTL - 64
EnableDNS - 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindoSize - 31944
KeepAliveInterval - 500
KeepAliveTime - 14400000
Lanabase - 0
LocalCopyMade - 1
MaxConnections - 100
MaxConnectRetries - 5
MaxDataRetries - 64
NameTableSize - 255
NameSrvQueryTimeout - 100
PMTUBlackHoleDetect - 0
PMTUDiscovery - 1
RoutingBufSize - 146432
RoutingPackets - 100
SackOpts - 1
SessionKeepAlive - 7200
SessionTableSize - 255
Size/Small/Medium/Large - 3
Tcp1323Opts - 0
TcpTimedWaitDelay - 30
MaxDupAcks - 3
DefaultTOS - 240
IGMPLevel - 2
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server - 10
MaxConnectionsPerServer - 8
VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING
1. Under your Configuration tab for your Network settings make sure you have only the needed protocols.
2. Install the vtcp 386 patch and the NDIS Update from here (http://dslnuts.com/patch/index.html).
3. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.
4. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73799)). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.
5. Clear your temporary internet files.
6. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.
7. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot 1.2 (http://beam.to/spybotsd) & Ad Aware 6.0 (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download) to remove any spyware then install and update SpywareBlaster (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html) to stay spyware FREE. YOU MUST USE BOTH AD AWARE & SPYBOT TO ENSURE YOU ARE SPYWARE FREE SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES.
8. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73799).

Thank you mnosteele52,
Pardon my question, since I am new at this.
Under the Config Tab for Network settings, I have the following:
Client for Microsoft Networks
Dial-Up Adapter
Intel(R) Pro-100+ Mangement Adapter
TCP/IP ->Dial-Up Adapter
TCP/IP ->Intel(R) Pro/100+ Mangement Adapter
Do I need to delete any of these files?
I have the dial-up as a backup when DSL fails . . .
I have done everything else your asked.
Thank you in advance of your reply!

Thanks again . . .
I ran the tweak test at DSL Reports and it requested to change my RWIN between 7260-20328 . . .
Hmmmmmm . . . what should I do?
