I'm gunna start building my clear case tomorrow and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I could build a fan duct. My design has a whole in front for either a standard case fan or a fan duct.

What do you guys think would work best?

So you're building a clear case on your own?

How big is the fan on the front and what's the case layout going to be like? Idealy you want to use a fan duct on the side blow fan because it would most likely be a straight fan duct, hence decrease air turbulance. (Air turbulance = extra noises).

A drawing of the case might be helpful. :)

if the whole case is gonna be clear you may want to use some tubular plexi or lexan for a duct, and use the proper adheisve to attach to the case.

any pics of what you have to work with ?

I suggest air pipes (like dell's proprietary models) for your machine. Have the back exhaust fan directly linked (air wise) to your cpu area. Acrylic cases tend to release heat very slowly and heat up quickly (a con to using them), so prepare the air flow in the case carefully.

I have a model I built outta foam board. will post pics later, my card reader's being stuburn.

I was thinking of having the fan come in from the front of the case, but I'll rethink the placement and see if I can work something out on the model first before I start cutting.

I'll snap a few shots off of the model since I got my server back up now, doesn't have anything in it, but it would be good to get the feedback from you guys.

I'm gunna get new batteries today when I pickup the LED's for this case. So far, looking at about 8 LED's with the other things I'm gunna do.

I'm going to also have a removeable motherboard tray with LED's so that when the LED's are on, that board will look like it's glowing....I hope that part works out...
