Cretins.

Maybe someone will come out with a similar MMORPG that actually is fun and useful to play.

Games shouldn't have to "get better" weeks or months after their release. I'm still shocked to hear some people tell me "don't worry, they bugs will be fixed in a month or two" as a way of recommending a game to me.

Well, a vast majority of games didn't have such OBVIOUS bugs or exploits. Proper programming and testing should remove any major or obvious bugs, leaving only minor ones (if any) that shouldn't impact the look or gameplay.

Take KOTOR as an example. It's a great game, and probably one of the best western RPGs I've played since Ultima. It's also the best non-Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Star Wars game I've played since...uh...probably TIE Fighter. However, it is plagued by some bugs and exploits (and even debugging modes like the Galaxy Droid) that should never have been left in the game. Relatively hidden bugs and glitches are one thing....but loading a game with a headless character (on a standardized platform no-less)? Unnecessary.

I'm not talking about obscure bugs (I believe an old Madden on the PSX would lock up if you could actually catch your own punt) or minor ones that don't impact gameplay much (such as poor collision detection). I'm talking about OBVIOUS bugs that only make things worse when playing online. Cheaters are bad enough, but it's even worse when somebody can easily exploit a game's actual code so easily.

As I've said before, the fact that I can now keep a list of bugs for most of the games I play is completely insane. Last time I checked, my job wasn't a game tester (although it probably sounds like it should be).

Too bad about KOTOR...that actually was on my list to play, but if it suffers from bugs and exploits, I'll avoid it for now. Now if they could only do a similar game for Star Trek...

I never even heard of KOTOR? Is that a MMORPG?

I was reffering to online games only, like EQ, UO, AC, AC2, AO

Best MMORPG of all time - Ultima Online, but in contrast to most games getting better over time, UO slowly got worse and worse.
I'll try to remember it as the game it ONCE was.

Actually it does, in terms of bugginess and the way it reduces the desire to play.

KOTOR is still worth checking out, and I can only hope that in the MONTHS between XBOX and PC versions, that most of those bugs will be fixed.
