Looking for a little tech assistance.
I'm have trouble pinging some IP addresses and others I have no problem with at all. I do a fair amount of online gaming though all I have is a 56k connection.
2 seperate systems, one running Windows 98SE and the other running Windows XP. Have both Systems optimized for 56k dial up (thanks to this great site).
When I try and do a tracert to some host I have no problem "hopping to them" and get fairly good ping times. Other host I usually can make 12 or 13 hops and then it like hitting a wall, connection times out. When these host tracert or ping my IP no problems.
I would say it might be a problem with my ISP but I have 2 independant ISP's and it occurs when I connect to either one.
Anyone with some experiance with this or some suggestions as to why this is occurring?
The problem seems to be more prevelant with cable host as opposed to DSL host, but I do not have a problem with all cable host.
