Hey, I need some help. When connectioning a DSL Modem to a router, do you need to use a crossover cable or straight through cable?

I just install a new router at work and the internet link light does not come on, I tested the cable with a cable tester and it tested fine as a straight through cable. So, do I need a crossover cable to make the connection?

Your modem connects to the router and the router connects to your pc via ethernet. Make sure you are using the correct ports on the router.

Should be straight through for both connections. Just make sure that the modem is connected to the WAN port on the router, assuming that it is a broadband router of course. The crossover is used when connecting two hubs/switches together or two PCs directly.
