The Windows2000 Broadband Registry Tweaks at www.speedguide.net do NOT work after applying the SP4 patch from www.windowsupdate.com

I was running *ok* on DSL with the tweaks for a few months... I wasn't really impressed with the tweaks anyways; there wasn't any noticeable speed improvement at all. I did several bandwidth tests from 6 or 7 different sites and they all came back more or less the same as before I applied the bandwidth tweaks.
About the only useful tweak from Speedguide was the one that allowed more than 2 simultaneous connections, which helped alot during heavy downloading...:

But a couple days ago I got the SP4 patch for Win2K from windowsupdate.com... my internet connection slowed to a Less than 56K CRAWL!
Some websites wouldn't even come up in my browser!

I had originally applied ALL the Win2K registry tweaks posted at speedguide.net...:

-Windows 2000/XP Registry Tweaks
-More Win 2k/XP Tweaks
-Host Resolution Priority Tweak

I tried removing them one at a time, rebooting, still slow internet connection, remove another, etc. got tired of all the rebooting so I just removed ALL the reg tweaks (except for the simultaneous connection one above, that one works and doesn't seem to affect my connect speed)

Now my internet connection is back to normal DSL speed.

We'll have to take a look at that, all my 2K machines at the office and at home have the tweaks, and SP4, and I haven't noticed anything, but all systems are different.

My tweaks work on my 2 2000 Pro machines at home. Those tweaks are kinda wrong though. They should be

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000008
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:0000000a

That makes the max connections for upload 8 and download 10, the tweaks as posted give them values of 32 for both upload and download. This is too many, and can cause incomplete page loading with images not being loaded. I think whoever posted them wanted 20, which is hexadecimal 0x00000014
