hi, i'm new to this site, it was recommended by my isp. I need help and any advice someone can give me.

first off, i live in a rural area of alaska, where there are no hard lines in or out of our town, so everything travels to Anchorage by satellite. Phones, cable, etc...

i recently got a cable modem, through our local provider GCI, which is headed in Anchorage.

My dilemma is, that I opted for a 1000/128 connection and i wasn't reaching anywhere near speeds i would get in anchorage. I'm trying to play games online, and my pings are just way to high to play here.

Can anyone tell me what to do???
thanks.

Sorry, but you are pretty much out of luck. The minimum latency for a satellite connection is 430 ms. Yours is running 700 ms. There is no way to improve without violating Einstein's theory of relativity.
