When Hosting online multiplayer games ... does your upload speed matter or your download?:confused:

Normally it is the upload.

In most cases, upload. True answer...whichever part if the slowest, as the old adage proves true.."A chain is only a strong as its weakest link".
99% of broadband setups, upload is your "weak link".
For the average contemporary game engine (this fact taken from planetunrealtournament.com/theadminpage)....take your upload...you average "tested" upload, not what your ISP tells you you can get up to, but your tested average...and divide that by 28.8....round up. That's the most clients you can support until the next clients starts to cut into everyones bandwidth, and introduce lag across the board.

Nope, mine is about 115, and I used to run a small Rune server from my house for quite a while, let 4-5 or so peeps play the 1v1 Arena honorable rules back in my Runegame.com days.

137,000?
