cannot download in ie6

In ie 6 using XP, and bellsouth broadband get the message, internet explorer cannot download... Internet explorer was unable to open this internet site. This happens where and whenever I try to download. Tryed reinstalling IE 6 as per microsoft, also used repair in ie6, no luck. Reinstalled ie6 from a AOL disk, still no luck, Any ideas or places to check for incorrect settings or missing files. Is there a download manager in IE6. Help please.

Check your security settings tab. In each zone, you can enable or disable downloading of files.
