Kind of a noob at this so I hope I'm explaining myself correctly.

I was planning on buying a wireless kit to hook up my 2 PCs to my DSL connection. So here's what I am wondering: is it absolutely necessary to purchase 2 wireless cards + a wireless router for the PCs? Or is there a way I could get away with just hooking one of the PCs up throught a wireless connection and just having the other one connected by a conventional Cat5 cable (seems logical enough)?

Thanks

Most WAP (wireless access point) connect via RJ45 to the network. some have more then one ethernet connection.
Try to get one card, and a WAP with a built in switch. that should sort you out.

Almost all Cable/DSL Routers have 4 wired ports and Wireless capacity.

You buy such a Router, and one PCMCIA Card..

Your DSL Modem connects to the Router. The computer that is close to the Router can be connected with a Cable and the second computer with a Wireless card.

Example.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help.

Okay, now that I've got the issue of a wired/wireless capable router figured out, are they available in a wireless-g version?

Thanks,
Terry
