So this is my first time creating an image with norton ghost and I think I need some help. This is my lab scenario. I have a 2000 server machine connected to a hub and one client machine with 2000 pro on it also connected to the hub. I want to create an image on the 2000 server machine but im not sure how to configure everything.

This was my approach.

Creat a ghost boot disk for the client machine(the drivers for the client machine were not listed so do I need to get the drivers form the manufacurers site and load them into the list).

Next, how should I configure the machines. should they be configured as DHCP os STATIC.

any advice would be a great help.Thank you in anvance

There are several ways around this. The two easiest ways are
1. Dist to disk clone
2. Disk to image clone

1. Disk to disk is a stright forward copy of one disk onto another. You need two or more physical disks in the machine. Go into ghost, chose Local> Disk> to Disk. Choose the source disk, then the destination and off you go.
2. Disk to image. You need a network boot disk to do this. Go into ghost, choose local> disk> to image, Choose the source disk and then the path to put the image. The path can either be on teh network somewhere, or as an image on a second physical disk in the machine.
The ghost boot disk wizard which comes with the enterprise edition makes the boot disk for you, or you can just download the NDIS or Packet drivers for your network card and create your own.

Hope this helps,
OJ
