Sorry guys newbee here.

Iran the port scanner test and found 71 ports filtered but 50 open
how can i close them.
I have Sygate personal firewall - XP Home - and DSL 512 Modem.
Any help would be appreciated.

The test reported the following ports open.
13,19,20,21,22,49,53,67,/8/8,79,88,99,110/1/3,119,123,137/8/9,143,162,194,635,666,1026/7/8/9,173,1863,3150,5000,5631/2,6666/7/8/9,27374,31337,31789,31790
5000tcp

ports are only 'open' when a server is listening on them. To close the ports, shut down the servers.

Check this link out for common port assignments.

I seriously doubt you are running all those services, sounds and looks to me like a false positive. I'm sure your are protected with Sygate Personal Firewall but I would run through and check the configuration of it.

I am not familiar with many software firewalls so I can't be of help in conifguring it.

Also not to bash the speeduide security scanner but I have seen many false positives reported from it ...
