I lost my connection about 2AM (Wednesday morning), the outage probably lasted until 2PM, but at the same time the cable TV was still working. I called Comcast and got this automated response about some sort of upgrade in the area. After I got my connection back at 2PM, I still didn't see any sort of performance gains in terms of connection speeds or pings.
Does anyone know what Comcast was actually upgrading?
