1. 1 i have the tcp/optimizer
2. 98x
3.
TCP properties for IP = XXXXXXXXXXXX()
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; yie6_SBCDSL; sbcydsl 3.12; YComp 5.0.8.6)
Note: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405860103030201010402
MTU = 1454
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.
MSS = 1414
MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 255552
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
520352 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 8)
260176 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 4)
130088 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 2)
65044 (MSS x 46)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10222.08 kbps (1277.76 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4088.832 kbps (511.104 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 54 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

4. Im on DSL, ppoe

5. Um i dont know what my isp is, but i have SBC/yahoo DSL and i run at 225 i think, <-- how do you tell this??

6. And i deleated over 12000 tmp files.

You could call sbc/yahoo and ask what package ur on Right now I'm just going to assume your on the 768/128 plain. Ok first we got to get ur mtu fixed read here
it should 1492 we have to get this set b4 anytweaks is applied. The directions are the links below

When u got mtu setf or 1492 take another analyzer cut and past everything below ip information and put in new post this is the biggest piece of the puzzle mtu is. :D

and also, i dont know if IE is my default browser... but i want it to be, and also whenever i use it, right when it opens it gives me a No connection error, WORK OFFLINE / RETRY.
when i click retry it connects, but is there anyway i can do that without having to do that everytime.\

I also did a speed test and it gave me 270 kbps and it hink its supposed 384

wnxdr.satan do the following:

Download the TCP Optimizer (http://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe) and try the following settings.

Settings tab:

select - DSL PPPoE
check - custom settings
network adapter selection - your NIC
check modify all adapters
maxmtu - 1492
TTL - 64
TCP Receive Window - 31944
MTU Discovery - yes
Black Hole Detect - no
Selective Acks - yes
Max Dup ACKs - 3
TCP 1323 Options - uncheck both boxes

Other Settings tab:

Max Connections per Server - 10
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
Lan Browsing Speedup - optimized

Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect.

VERY IMPORTANT TO DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Under your Configuration tab for your Network settings make sure you have only the needed protocols.

2. Install the vtcp 386 patch and the NDIS Update from here (http://dslnuts.com/patch/index.html).

3. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

4. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73799)). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

5. Clear your temporary internet files.

6. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.

7. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot 1.2 (http://beam.to/spybotsd) & Ad Aware 6.0 (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download) to remove any spyware then install and update SpywareBlaster 2.5.3 (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/spywareblaster.html) to stay spyware FREE. YOU MUST USE BOTH AD AWARE & SPYBOT TO ENSURE YOU ARE SPYWARE FREE SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES.

8. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in my Help & Tips link (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73799).

sorry but i dont think this stuff is working, my comp seams to be loading pages slower, and they stall even more more frequently.

05-31-03, 09:43 PM
hmm did u install that sbc yahoo stuff that came with the dsl. The reason I ask this is they of course install abunch of yahoo stuff that could be distrupting registry. Also try this goto startmenu, seach, for files, and folders, type in *.tmp when it's done searching click on edit select all and delete that could be slowing u down too.

wnxdr.satan
06-02-03, 12:32 PM
yes i did. also my frient said that it could be a tojan that is slowing me down. anyone know how to get rid of the ones your virus scanners dont pick up?? cause my comp is really pissing me off... it stalls like every 5minutes now.

mccoffee
06-02-03, 03:29 PM
Ok this is what i suggest u do first if you have mcaffee and or norton anti scan for viruses. First update the virus definitions and do a scan if you did that step already tell me what's the name of ur trojan horse I'll send u to the software to remove. You can also goto www.sarc.com they should have the remover for the hoarse. If no viruses show up on the scan read step too.

2. Get rid of all the yahoo crap goto add and remove programs and get rid of all the sbc/yahoo stuff you could find. Instead of reinstalling sbc to connect to the dsl use this program instead http://www.raspppoe.com/ or ENTERNET which you get at www.ameritech.com I'll private message u the link of the other client.

3. If all that still no luck, back up all ur important files format and reinstall everything I know that this step is extreme but believe or not they say a format about 1 or twice a year is good to do to keep system running stable. Also in situations like this sometimes ur better off.

wnxdr.satan

is there any way to back up all the music files i have ( over 3gb)

mccoffee
06-03-03, 01:54 AM
Do you got a burner or copy to a seperate partion . Also let me ask u what exectly u mean stall?? Just on webpages. What other strange things it's doing. I'm trying to figure out a work around sorta speak rather then the format.

it hangs up alot, and not just on pages, it does it for my games two (diabloII mainly) it did do it much wheni first got it. now it does it quite a few times, and sometimes like every 5 mins.

wnxdr.satan
06-03-03, 02:25 AM
and when installing that rasppoe, it told me to get rid of my other ppoe adapters, but i accidently got rid of the one that let me choose maxframeset and whatnot, any way to get this back or change that manually, ( i already did FIND on regedit).

and now that i did that im running kind of slow ... 212.
=( i just keep digging myself a grave.

and no on the burner

Ok first goto my computer,add/remove programs get rid off ppoe client software

Try this goto my computer, control panel, network, properties get rid of network card, tcpip, ppoe adapters, reboot remove everything in network properties so you don't have a network reboot .

Windows my ask to install the network card drivers click yes, then goto my computer control panel network, click on add protocol tcip, then click on add again add dial adapter if you still use 56k then install the rasppoe again this should work. :D
