My sister told me that she posted her information of www.dslreports.com onto their forums and they told her to use this RWIN value - 31944
According to the formula you've provided.. I've gotten 3 different possibilities
58400 and 71540 and 456552
The first one is going by this page
http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=643301#post643301
the second one is going by this page
http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?threadid=113043&highlight=tcpoptimizer
The third one is going by the RWIN calculator with values of
1500 for bandwidth
305 for latency
1492 for MSS
This is what the analyzer said before inputting the value my sister gave me using DR.TCP
downloaded from http://www.dslreports.com/
TCP properties for IP = xx.xxx.xx.xxx
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Note: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.
TCP options string = 020405ac01010402
MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65340
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65340
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2613.6 kbps (326.7 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1045.44 kbps (130.68 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 115 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000
This is what the analyzer gave me after I inputed the RWIN value and restarted

and currently my computer is set to the last analyzer test I put here.
1. My connection is DSL PPPoE
2. Bellsouth 1500kbps/256kbps
3. The last TCP/IP Analyzer test I just posted
4. Windows XP Service Pack 1
And I have already used the spyware tools
Please tell me what I should change in TCPOptimzer.. all the values.
Below the recommended downloads... there are suggestions to do with with my settings on this post http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=643301#post643301
should I do those?
Thanks very much.:D
<edit>
One more thing....
If there is any other program I should use to make my connection faster.. please tell me.
Oh yea.. I'm behind a router... Linksys wired one.. umm so does that make it routerppoe or winxppoe
I play counter-strike and before I reformated my ping would be about 300, then I set it to OpenGL and it became 90... now its back to around 300 with OpenGL setting..?
This is where the other information I got came from
