my computer is acting weird, i did a system restore today for my onw reasons. it didnt finsh when it froze. i restarted the computer. and it said that rstrui had an error at start up and some file was gone. i couldn't open system restore. i did sfc /scannow. rebooted and i could do it again(system restore) i did it again and this time it finished and rebooted, but it said that i didnt complete( i did this a couple times) and i no i dont have a virus( check a couple times0 or spyware. i think when i did the system restore without finishing the first time, i did something, like not all the files were restored. now it acts like safe mode. although it can get on the internet, and it has the themes. it doesnt detect speakers, i cant use my graphics driver, and i cant standby the computer, things like that. how can i fix this. ( oh yeah, i tried repairing windows, but my password keeps saying its the wrong one, even though i can access my administator account all the time. this password thing has been going on for a while( didnt just happen after this system restore) so... how can i fix this? i want my files still.

if you can, undo the system restore or try a later restore point

You really need to find out your password since a repair is your best option. What was the purpose of the original use of system restore? Did you install an app that caused a problem or new hardware?

:) :D

didn't notice the password problem, in the user manager, just delete the password and recreate it
