This is in reference to my laptop, a p300 with 128megs of ram.

I have tried knoppix running off a virtual install and liked it. So, I went ahead and installed it. However, openoffice mixed up two of my keys and I needed to finish a report.

So, I installed winxp on it. crazy, yes. but, it worked!

however, it's just not fast enough for winxp. always choking.

So, tomarrow I'm going back to linux with it. I was going to just use the Knoppix disc I already have, running in the kde environment. From advice here and abroad, that is running debian.

any thoughts or something else I should use??

I need a couple of things from my laptop. I need SOME games. I need to be able to play audio and video. And I need to be able to use a wireless network based on 802.11b and run an office-type program.

thanks!!

Open the Control Center (I believe that's what it's called, icon in taskbar)

Then expand Periperals\Keyboard. I believe you can map keys there.

OOOOPS, ignore above! (just loaded cd on other system)

Control keybopard layout as follows:

Control Center\Regional & Access\Keyboard
