source for digital media, such as magazines?

I just picked up a laptop and I intend on bringing it to work with me.

I know there are sources that you can pick up tidbits to read on a palm, from various magazines. Is there something like that for laptops/regular computers?

I'm not going to be online at work, but I would like to transfer some things in to read with it.

You could use the Synchronization feature of the browser. (Web Folders) Basically a cache of content arranged for offline viewing.
