HI. After having Roadrunner installed. I'm hooking up 2 other computers. The first one which was the main computer with the cable modem seems to work fine. Hooked up a BelkinWireless Router Got on the internet. After installing the Belkin Wireless USB adapter to the 2nd computer it's saying that Cable is Unplugged. Could it be possible that the signal is not reaching the main computer? I checked the connections once again. If I'm able to get online with the main computer why would the message--- cable unplugged-- be appearing on the second computer? Seems I'm missing something real simple. Help UGHHH. Both computers are XP's and I enabled the fire sharing thingy!!:(

i believe you have to use the wireless configuration tool. when it says network cable unplugged it emans that it is checking for a wired connection. i dont remember what i did when i had wirless but just look through the manual and check on how to set up a wirless network using xp. thats what my linksys manual had in it.

Use the configuration tool !
You should also be able to get into the routers interface by using
192.168.1.XXX (depending on your brand).

Check these few things to make sure the values are the same on the router as well as on you wireless connection:

SSID (if you're using a Linksys router for instance, i'ts usually "Linksys"- you can use another value).

Channel (usually channel 6 by defualt)

WEP (check if it's enabled or not) If it's enabeled on the router then you need to set the wireless adapter/connection as well.

You will have to enter the encryption key generated on the router into the wireless connection.

Also check your signal strenght to see if your'e in good range.

See if these work...
