Yup....say 3 computers in the router, have a cable go to whatever you're using....hub or switch..doesn't matter (switch is faster), and plug more computers into that. Or simply, if you have a really good switch that is better than the built in switch on the router, all computers into that big switch, uplink to the router.

For example, a while ago, in my various combinations of setups and screwing around with different equipment..I have a really nice 3COM SuperStack II...12 porter. She's a 600 dollar beast...better than any built in unit you'll find in just about any router. I uplinked my router into that, have all my computers in the 3COM.

Depending on your router, uplink port to standard port on switch/hub, or regular port on router to uplink port on switch/hub.

yes..

I have a Linky BEFSR41v2 Router

w/my 2 main comps hooked up to it..

it's connected to a Netgear FS608 8port Switch
w/2 comps connected

my router is still the soho nexland whats a low priced switch thats about the same pace as it? i dont want a couple comps transfering files too much slower then the others.

Lots of low priced switches now, Netgear, Linksys, Compex to name a few. Netgear and Compex are fast for under 70 bucks.
