Can I get a little more detail on the post you made to Yikes? (About the flags or something and the command line.) You mentioned his next work units/frames should go a little faster....is there a tweak to speed up folding???
New member 'Bumper Sticker" over in Gen. Forum joining the fold, WELCOME. Cypher says that's his boss and should add about 15 machine. Cypher himself got new router and is adding 2 more machines. And Yikes is coming in with 3 machine. With 'EOC' right on our tail, I'd love to see us slowly start to pull away from them
W00t! Wish my new board would come in. I already have my hub and would lub to bring the nebulous back on line.
SilverBolt @ 2.1Ghz
Nebulous@ 2.6Ghz
Total = 4.7Ghz of protien crunchin' madness!
*Prays to the AMD G0Ds* C'mon, send me my new board puh-leeeeez! :D

All the flags available are explained in some detail on the page where you downloaded your FAH3console.exe program. Go there and select the 'Console Info' about in the middle of each line.
As to the different types of work units:
1. Beta work unit, is one that has been tested at Stanford but has now been opened up for further tested by the Beta Test Team. These may have serious errors that cause them to crash and burn. But the Test Team is susposed to find the errors so they can be corrected. These generally give the best points per hour.
2. Advanced work units are those that have passed the Beta period and most errors are corrected. They are now available to a wider spectrum of folders for further testing. These may not give as good a point per hour as Beta units, but they usually give a better return than units already passed onto the general folding group.
3. General folding work units have pass the Beta and Advanced period and are available to every one. These are older units than the above 2 stages and seem to give the worst points per hour return.
I've only been folding since Sept 2002, but from what I've seen, each group of work units going into Beta testing and then Advanced testing give a slightly better return than the units before them.
Method I like to use to put the flags to use is:
1. Navigate to the folding directory and right click on the FAH3console.exe program.
2. Select the menu option that pops up of create a shortcut.
3. Right click on the shortcut created and select properties from the menu that poped up.
4. You can then put the flags on the command line right after the C:\folding\FAH3console.exe -advmethods -forceasm
5. Now start the folding program by using the shortcut and it will incorporate the flags into the program.
You can use Ctrl-C to stop the folding on the wu you are currently doing, and then double click on the shortcup to restart it. You should then be able to compare the times to finish a frame and see if theres any improvement.
Hope this helps.

You don't have to give them unique IDs... You only have to give unique IDs when running more than one FaH instance on the same machine (dual proessors).
Way to go everyone, welcome aboard BumperSticker ! :)
