wireless 802.12

Hello,
I was wondering I have been doing some reading on the subject of 802.12 wireless lan and I do not see when it will be coming out. Does anyone know? and also I have read from either several hundred feet to up to 5 mile distance, Which one is true? and what are the security concerns?

IEEE 802.12 is the standard for Gigabit ethernet. I don't believe it has anything to do with wireless.

Do you have any links that state otherwise?

Are you sure you aren't thinking of 802.16?
